Although, AI may have a bad reputation among artists and designers, it can prove to have many uses which can make a web designer's work much easier. Design-wise, AI can generate images that may inspire the web designer about the overall mood and artistic design of the website. Coding-wise, AI can help the web designer provide codes to help input the features they want, or help guide them on coding the website as a whole. An example is the use of ChatGPT to help with coding. Though, it may not help the user with a fully accurate and complete code, it does help the web designer with an idea of how to code their website. Other uses for AI include helping with research regarding the online market, businesses, marketing strategies, creating effective wireframes and websites. The AI can pinpoint sources and topics that the web designer can use and input into their website, which in turn, can also help generate ideas that the client may like. In conclusion, AI can be extremely helpful to web designers if used responsibly and wisely. Examples of tasks that AI can help web designers with are: Helping with research, giving ideas, formatting, coding, and overall making the workload much easier to do. So, instead of seeing AI as some sort of enemy, you can see it as a tool that can be very effective if you take the time to learn how to use it properly.

Web Design is significant in a business' success, especially when it wants to appeal to its audience online. Without proper web design, the business' reputation may be affected negatively which may lead to customers feeling uninterested. A web designer is responsible for making a good first impression to potential customers, and making sure the business looks interesting and appealing to the eye. It is also their responsibility to make sure the viewers get to access the website and find more information about the business in an easy and efficient way. For example, a business' website must look proper and aesthetically pleasing to satisfy the user's experience, but it must also be easy to navigate (knowing how to order the product, how to showcase the product, etc.) Research is also an important part of their job as they need to learn more about online businesses and what consumers think. Researching more about online businesses gives context and ideas on how to improve a business and how to organize their website and online presence effectively. With this research, they can find out ways on how to present the business and market their products/services successfully.
What are websites good for? Websites allow for more discoverability and increase the chances of customers finding your business or product. It is also a good way to showcase your product/service in any way you deem appropriate. About 2 billion people in the world shop online, and it is also expected to increase. Therefore, it is a wise decision to set up your business/product online as it is a popular medium for promotion and more information. For example, by sending up a website, you can provide an easy and accessible space for users to order their products, know more about the products, etc. Meanwhile, social media is a good way to promote your products and connect with audiences. As many people use social media frequently, your business advertisements and promotions have a better chance of being seen by new customers as well as for building a new audience. Most of all, social media is the perfect place to communicate and interact with your audience and customers. They can also leave their own thoughts about your brand, which is very helpful as it can give ideas on how to improve the business and their services. For example, users can leave comments and you can also persuade them to choose your business by using advertising techniques on social media. However, social media and websites do have some downsides to it. A big problem with online marketing and in-person marketing is the fact that the product or service isn't personally seen by the user online. Therefore, users may not trust businesses fully as products or services can be quite faulty. For example, products may be more low-quality and way different than what users expected when it was presented on the website/social media. In conclusion, using websites and social media for business can be pretty helpful, especially since we live in a society that heavily relies on technology.
The moon's beautiful isn't it? Though it lives so many miles away, it is adored and loved by many. There are countless meanings, stories, and symbols given to it. For example, it is seen as a symbol of change and growth due to the many phases it takes each night. It is also personified in many mythologies like a god or goddess who brings prosperity to those who worships them. Meanwhile, others see it as a distant figure who looms the sky, listening to every secret, every word, and every struggle you might have. It's a very comforting figure and I, myself, often lend my own thoughts to it, and I trust that it keeps them safe where it can never affect anything neither internally or externally. Though it only ever stares back at you, it feels like a friend. A distant soul that follows you everywhere you go, despite how far it really is. But maybe its distance and silence makes it all the more comforting. It's there to listen and keep every memory and thought you have. I'm feeling quite poetic and inspired by a certain song right now (you might even know it), but I plan to have the moon keep my heart and my soul safe while I walk this Earth, going through whatever the universe throws at me. That's how beautiful the moon truly is to me.
Inclusiveness in web design is very significant as it defines the majority of the user's experience. Inclusivity means making your website easy to use and accessible for all users. Without it, the website loses its chance to carry out its purpose and to be used by future users. To further improve websites, these are three design considerations that I feel are most important for inclusive design:
Define Accessibility - The website must be accessible for all users, and adding accessibility mode just feels too tedious. Moreover, adding accessibility mode in the first place might suggest that the initial website is not actually accessible or good for the users overall. Help Users Fix Mistakes - Other than improving the features of the website, we must also think about customer support and helping users with their tasks. Looking into the perspective of a new user, we often don't know how the website's going to look and how to properly use it. It is important that we help the user by showing small tutorials, adding a support option, or guiding them when they make mistakes whilst using the website. Choose Simple Gestures - Adding unique features to a website may be quite tempting, however, it is also important to make it easy for users to navigate and use. Having simple controls can be very beneficial for users, especially those who are new to the website. For example, adding a few buttons to move photos or anything visual can be much easier than having to swipe different directions with extra steps. Complex features can confuse the viewer and overwhelm them, which can lead to disinterest and frustration. As simple features appeal to the disabled and non-disabled, this very much promotes the goal of inclusive design. Pinterest is a widely used website to find inspiration for various interests like art, games, fashion, and so much more. The app/website also seems to arrange their photos to appeal to its users aesthetically with pleasing visuals and colour palettes. The font it uses is simple and professional, yet it is also easy in the eyes. Furthermore, white space is used to separate the pictures and contents, which shows how it is used responsibly and usefully. They keep a simple colour palette of white or black (depending on whether the user uses light or dark mode), to avoid distracting the viewer from the real content or photos being shown in the feed. Other features are easy to navigate such as notifications, home screen, create your own pin, messages, and your own profile. It also shows or recommends more ideas for boards that you have made, which is very useful as boards are very commonly used by its users. Only downside is the accounts and more options feature, since it may not be easily seen by users and some may not even have the knowledge of knowing that it exists. However, overall it is a pretty simple and easy to navigate kind of website because its main use is for users to search up their favourite things and generate more inspiration.
Hamburger icons are seen everywhere, and it's become a well known aspect of the digital world. There are mixed opinions about the hamburger icon, but I think the icon is very helpful and a bit better than combination menus. That is only my personal point of view though. As a person who grew up with the internet and spent a lot of my time with gadgets, the hamburger icon is a very familiar image to me. Every time I visit a website or app, I know where to look for the other settings or features by finding the hamburger icon. The icon does have its downsides to it, but I believe that the icon serves as a good feature if handled well and responsibly. For example, Google uses the hamburger icon for less important but useful settings (ie. Google Drive). Of course, if the website needs to store valuable information, you need to put the important and main points of the website right in front of the viewer. Websites can have a lot of content in it, and it can be a bad experience for the viewer if they had to scroll down in hundreds of menus or have every menu placed in one screen. The hamburger icon can serve as an organizer and can give each setting their own page where the viewer can simply look at without having to be distracted by overlapping or peeking features. All in all, I believe that very important and crucial menus should be placed in easily accessible and viewed places (like the home/main screen). Meanwhile, the hamburger menu should store important but also less likely used menus/features (ie. account settings).
Introducing my brand, Wistearia Herbal Tea! The photo shown is the logo I designed for my product, which is a herbal tea made from wisteria plants. My logo shows a cup of tea with wisteria vines in the background. The overall colour theme consists of different shades of purple to match the colours of wisteria plants. Wisteria plants are known for its colourful and pretty visual, so I also wanted to have my logo match the blissful and mystical vibe that the plants have. I also wanted this logo to be pleasing to the eye, so adding to the mystical visual is a soft artistic design that also clearly communicates what my product is about. My choice for the font is a simple but formal design. It has a little bit of creative features to it, which helps match the artistic theme of the image. I chose this font as it is easy to read for the customers, and it is also mildly eye-catching or pleasing to read. The subtext for "Herbal Tea" is also simplistic but very straightforward. As the brand logo and name catches the eye of the customer, the subtext guides them to what kind of tea this product is. Although wisteria plants are known for its purple hue, its pigment when fermented is actually bright pink. The cool colours help emphasize the contrasting bright colour of the tea which helps viewers easily know what my brand is about. Moving on to the actual product-Okay, I know what you might be thinking: "Omg, isn't wisteria poisonous and toxic?!" Well, yes and no. Wisteria plants contain lectin and wisterin which can cause harmful effects to humans and animals, so it is important to be mindful of consuming parts of the plant, especially the seeds or pods as it is the most toxic part than the rest of the plant. In contrast to the seeds, wisteria flowers are edible and can even be made into floral cordial - syrup made from flowers. Through the art of fermentation, my brand uses wisteria floral cordial to create this herbal tea. My production for this tea emphasizes mindfulness and responsibility when handling the making of this product. We definitely ensure that our product is very safe for fellow customers, and beneficial for people's health! The product is a pretty new concoction so it is definitely interesting. Many people who love colourful plants and tea may also want to try this product. It's interesting, it's informative, it's pleasing, it's calming, and it's so many things-aesthetic, cool, creative, and so much more!
Do you want to start a business? Do you want to sell products and CONTINUE to sell products? Now, this is where the magical thing called "branding" comes in. Branding is very important when you want to start a business or create a product of your own. It's one of the first things businesses do before they even start! It's not only important for the things you sell, but for yourself as well. Branding gives you and your creations an identity that allows customers to be familiar with the quality and service that you and your product can provide. For example, when people are looking for good running shoes, they often refer to Adidas or Nike because their brand is known for making good quality shoes for active living. Therefore, branding helps customers refer back to your store, which can helps keep your sales consistent. Furthermore, having a brand for your product separates the special from the regular. When you buy unbranded coffee with no logo and no name, you'd mostly forget it or care less. Whereas, products, especially those names that stand out, is remembered more and can pique a person's interest.
Going into web design, web designers definitely need to know their client's brand details. This helps them know what their client is looking for in a website, such as the overall theme, colours, and important content/features they need. Knowing the brand details, web designers can be able to provide top quality and even a little creativity that a business' website might need. Digital Citizenship is the safe and responsible use of technology and the internet. This includes being respectful while using the internet and being mindful of what we share. The positive side of posting online is that we can share educational and useful information with others. We can also share entertaining videos and images to improve our mood throughout the day. By posting online, you can create a fanbase, make friends, create connections, and find new opportunities. For example, there are many communities in the internet (ie. K-pop fans, Anime fans, and more), and you can post or share the interests you have in common with that community. You wouldn't feel lonely and you'll feel accepted for the things you enjoy. In contrast to the positive results of posting online, there is also a negative side to it. As human beings, we all make mistakes. Sometimes, we don't know the consequences of our actions or we don't think thoroughly about the things we post. Not only that, the internet is full of people with different personalities, therefore you are bound to come across toxic and harmful people. An example of this is when you make a friend online. You won't know them personally, but you'll start to trust them little by little. When you finally feel comfortable enough to share personal information with them, they suddenly change and use that information to frame you as a bad person. This is also why you should be mindful of who you talk to online and what you share with them. This applies with posting comments or photos as well. You always have to think critically about the internet's environment and the morality of what you post.
